Water Project #1
This project is located in Nicaragua, the community is rural, called Amatitan, located in the city of La Paz Centro, department of Leon.
This is a population that is dedicated to cultivation, production of mud bricks, for construction, producers of raw material for the construction of typical ranches made with African palm, tiles, tree trunks. Amatitan has a population of approximately 260 families.
This is a very poor community. There is no public transportation—families commute by horse carriage, bicycle, or walking. Each household had running water for only two hours a day: half of the community in the morning, the other half in the afternoon. Water is a basic human need, and it’s hard to imagine living in such a hot climate with such limited access.
For this project, we purchased a 22,000L tank to provide the entire community with consistent access to drinking water. We installed a purification system, constructed a concrete foundation for support, and integrated the system into their existing infrastructure.
We’re proud to have provided everything needed to make this happen—and to have created jobs along the way for the workers who brought it to life.
As the second phase of this initiative, we also built a playground for the children—a space where they can laugh, play, and simply be kids. From permits to logistics, nothing about this process was easy—but it was worth every step.
Jonatan Eli Espinoza Perez has been a true hero throughout this journey. As both an artist and a humanitarian, his dedication beside me has made this impact possible. I’m deeply grateful to call him a partner and a friend.
